Building a Hair Salon Website Using Wix

TLDR: I worked with Savannah based hair stylist Jamie Dajuan to build a website on Wix. Her site allows daily hair clients to quickly book an appointment with her and also creates an automated sales funnel for bridal clients to book Jamie for wedding hair and makeup services. Jamie Dajuan is a hair stylist based on Downtown Historic Savannah, Georgia. Jamie was referred to me by a friend and had been historically using Gloss Genius for booking clients. With no existing logo we started out by creating a basic logo and style guide for Jamie's brand.

Using Canva I put together the above style guide to inform the websites look and feel. It is so important to have a solid brand before beginning your website project and as you can see, it doesn't have to be anything complex! What's needed before starting a web project:

1. An up to date high resolution logo

2. A header font and a body copy font for layering texts

3. Three to five complimentary colors for consistency

4. High resolution photos of you and your business

After establishing Jamie's logo and corresponding style guide we focused on her photos. I referred Jamie to a Savannah based photographer I know and trust, Christine Hall. You can view here work here. Jamie and Chrissy met up in Savannah's Starland District to capture photos for the website.

Wix Bookings

Jamie will continue to use Gloss Genius for booking clients until she has reached a point where she can switch over to Wix Bookings. For now, she will be using Wix Bookings to display her services on her site. Services are easily accessed from the Wix Owners Dashboard either on desktop or via their mobile app. This allows Jamie to quickly update her service offerings without having to go into the website editor, giving her more control over the content on her website.

Wix FAQ

The Wix FAQ app is easily accessed from the Wix Owners Dashboard either on desktop or via their mobile app. This allows Jamie to quickly update Frequently Asked Questions without having to go into the website editor, giving her more control over the content on her website.

Ascend by Wix

Ascend is Wix's built in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) product. Each Wix site comes with Ascend so you can easily manage your customers and leads. Jamie can easily keep track of and message with site visitors via her regular email or the Wix Owners app on her phone.

Wix Forms

Three forms are built into Jamie's site. One to capture email subscribers, another to capture wedding party leads, and a third to execute contracts with wedding clients. All forms are connected to customer records in Ascend.

Wix Automations

Wix Automations allow you to automate tasks you regularly complete in the day to day operations of your business. We have set up automations so that when a wedding lead completes a form on the website they are automatically entered into a sales queue creating reminders for Jamie and sending the lead automated email alerts on next steps.

Wix Quotes & Invoices

Jamie can quickly send Quotes out to leads via her owner dashboard. Leads have the option to leave questions on their quote or accept it. Upon acceptance an invoice is automatically sent to the customer soliciting full payment or a deposit. Payments are processed via all major payment processors.
