What If I Can't Afford A Social Media Agency Yet?

Updated: Apr 15

We understand that investing in social media can be a big financial commitment for your business when starting out so here are some ways you can manage things as a small business owner before you're ready to outsource to an agency.

Solidify Your Brand

First you want to ensure you have a solid brand using the same colors, fonts, and tone of voice when sharing content with your audience. Canva is a really great resource to create a set of social media templates for your brand. Take a stab at it yourself, purchase and customize one of our brand kits, or hire us to build your brand in a day!

Strategize

It sounds boring, but having a plan really does come in handy. Sit down and think about your ideal customer. What channel are they hanging out on and what type of content do they want to see? Jot down as many ideas as you can. Save these for later!

Capture Content

We've all said to ourselves "oh, I'll edit that reel later". We can't be trusted. Invest in a content shoot with a photographer or videographer. You can expect to pay $1000 - 2000 for a shoot that can provide you content for months if you have a clear guide based on your above content ideas!

Work Smarter, Not Harder & Schedule

There are so many affordable social scheduling tools out there. Don't waste your time manually posting and don't keep telling yourself "I'll post a few times this week". We really like later.com for small businesses. Sit down and pre-schedule at least a month in advance. You don't have to schedule every post. Set a solid foundation and then layer in spur of the moment posts as you like. This ensures you won't have a lull in posting.

Outsource What You Can

Hire an intern or a virtual assistant to help with scheduling, planning shoots, or managing your DMs. I have used Squared Away for my Executive Assistant for years and their plans start out at $600/month. If you have your strategy and the content ready to go then this should be easy to outsource.
